About this audiobook

"Hero of our time" by Mikhail Lermontov - the first in Russian literature social and psychological novel and unconditional masterpiece of world classics. This is a deep, fascinating and cynical study of the human soul in which the author created a portrait of a whole generation, "composed of errors in all their development." He is intelligent, educated, devilly charming and given a vast inner power, but at the same time absolutely devastated and disappointed in life. The novel is built as a mosaic of five independent novels located in a chronological disorder. This allows the reader to look under the mask of the hero: first to see him with the eyes of the simple-minded headquarters Maxim Maximich, and then through the personal diary of Pechorin himself to penetrate the secret motives of his actions. The love of the Church of Bella, intrigues in the resort of Pyatigorsk, a duel with a friend of Grushnitsky and a dangerous game with the fate in the story of "Fatalist" - everywhere Pechorin brings the surrounding only destruction and pain, while remaining a deeply unhappy person. Lermontov managed to create an immortal type of "excessive man" - a thought egoist who from tiredness and lack of great thing breaks the fate of others, trying to find the boundaries of his own freedom.
